Ian Townsend CEng FIMMM FSAIMM

Ian has a degree and almost 50 years of experience in Minerals Engineering.  

He worked in production management at copper, gold, uranium, tin and nickel plants in the UK, Zambia, South Africa, Australia and Canada. His experience also includes process development, feasibility studies, commissioning, process technology and  capital equipment sales globally. 

In addition to his roles as plant manager, he was general manager and managing director of a major process equipment manufacturer's subsidiaries in the UK, Germany and South Africa.

Ian was a council member of the IMM, and later council member and president of MinSouth.  He has contributed chapters to minerals processing text books and papers on filtration and coal-gold agglomeration.

Jeff Townsend MA

Jeff has nearly 20 years of experience in politics and government relations. 

He has a Masters degree in Politics and International Relations and completed internships at the Africa Desk of Congressional Research in Washington DC, and with a consulting minerals economist in Johannesburg, South Africa.   

Jeff spent ten years as an advisor to MPs in the UK Parliament, during which time he founded the All Party Parliamentary Group for International Mining.

Since leaving Westminster, Jeff has provided political advice to FTSE100 and S&P500 companies, recently to rare earth and battery metal mining companies.  Jeff founded the Critical Minerals Association and the All Party Parliamentary Group for Critical Minerals, and is a director of Technical Critical Minerals Ltd.
